Cat litters are available in lots of varying formats, for example you can have clay based, clumping cat litter, crystals or wood based. It really comes down to what you prefer and what your cat likes to use.
Litter trays are also available in lots of differet shapes and sizes but we would reccommend that you start your kitten off in a standard litter tray.
Never put the tray near the cat's food and never put it near the cat's bed, this would stop the cat from using it, so always put the litter tray away from the cats food and bed.

One must always take care when changing a litter tray as it will contain harmful bacteria which can be particularly bad for children and pregnant women.
